I planted the Brassica seed mix form WildlifeGamemaster and the results were better than I expected. I harvested a nice 10 point from it on 11-5 and a doe on 11-10. Both were harvested in the food plot. The buck came in chasing a doe, which came to feed, and the doe was feeding with 3 button bucks. With a little work put into the right soil preparation and the great seed you can have a tremendous honey hole for deer. My intention was to shoot a doe from the plot but once I started getting cuddeback pictures of some great buck I thought there may be a chance to get a nice buck. I would reccomend WildlifeGamemasters seed to anyone who wants to shoot a big buck or just help out the deer population.

I wanted to see it for myself!! I also was able to harvest an antlerless deer out of the plot on 11/12. It's almost unbelievable how the deer are ripping up the turnips.

If you plant it, they will come. Location, location, location is the key as well. Being able to hunt it after you plant it and being in a spot the deer will be able to frequent during daylight hours. You must have done a pretty good job of picking you food plot location and stand location BBB. Great job.

Build it and they will come is the truth. Out of my gamemasters plot there have been 2 doe taken out and 3 bucks still alive b/c we practice QDMA and let walking through it. But thenthey stopped and had some good food. Fiddlerhunter was in the plot one am and saw 3does and 16 turkeys two of which were beards hens.

absolutely, i was actually thinking about planting a couple small fields of corn this spring and I could always use the trees. I actually planted about 250 sawtooth oaks a couple years ago, but the critters ate most of them before they couls get established. I also had 24 white oaks planted. They were about four foot tall when planted, had them cased and everything. Come fall the bucks decided they would make nice sign posts and ripped the tubes off and destroyed the trees. Lesson learned, I will approach it differently next time.

IS the NWTF still able to get the sun flowers? They make an awesome hunting plot if you plant them in late august-mid september. I have tried to plant them in the spring so I can mow them off in the fall for the turkeys, but the deer will mow them down when they get about 10-12" high.

I ordered corn, sunflower, sorgum, winter wheat, and alfalfa but all we are getting is corn, but I am diffinatly getting the corn, I'll let you know when it comes in. They are 50lb bags of seed, and I have to charge $5 for each bag, but we can iron that out later.

Hey gamemaster, I think we are going to put some buckwheat out at our habbitat project at the R & G club so if you can get me some put aside that would be great. unless you think something els would be better.

buckwheat is not a bad idea, it all depends on what the goal of the plot is. Truth be told a clover and chicory plot would last ya three to four years and the turkey and deer will both benefit just the same. Buckwheat of course is an annual. It will grow faster, but you will be replanting next year.

I know clover would be better but thats what the club wants because we had it there before. Plus Kenny was come clover and corn up in the big fields. We are going to plant some fruit trees, nut trees and do some food plot of some kind there. Then this fall we are going to plant some cover.
