Well, the fate of Sunday hunting is still very much up for debate.  Those who support it are claiming more opportunities for those "who have jobs" and students (youth hunters).  They are also claiming $804 million in economic activity, about 7,500 jobs created and almost $57 million in taxes.  Those who oppose it claim it will lead to more trespassing, effect bird watchers, hikers and others who want at least one day to be able to enjoy their activities with out being put at risk.  HMMMMM.  Not sure where I stand on this.  I am not sure where the new jobs will come from exactly.  The $804 million would be a good thing and oh yes the TAXES.  Don't forget about those taxes.   It would be great for those who have to work 6 days a week, but I'm not sure I want to hear gun shots ringing out while I am sitting in church though either.  I will leave it at that and see what all of you have to say.

Well treestand, your last post more or less goes along with my thoughts.  I can't be certain, but I bet there are a lot of hunters out there that feel the same way.  I can honestly say that I would not be one of those taking advantage of the extra day to hunt.  That also being said, during the gun seasons my wife and I do not allow our children outside to play with the exception of Sundays if the weather permits.  I can see all kinds of problems stemming from a change.  I also think you would see a lot more posted property to follow.  My thoughts are leave it alone.  I think the numbers they have come up with have a lot more to do with it than the hunters wanting another day.  jmo

Are you telling me that nobody else has an opinion on this topic?  I know better than that.

I actually would be in favor of sunday hunting. Since I can mostly only hunt saturdays, sunday hunting would almost double my hunting time each year.

Yes, it is tuff for the youngster.  I can remember hunting all day and being exhausted from getting up early an then having to head to basketball practice at 7:00 in the evening.  Or getting off the bus or having my grandad pick me up at school, so I could hurry home and get a couple hours in before dark.  I can definately see the point of view as to bringing more youngsters in because it is a constant struggle between everything that children are involved in now a days.  My fear is that it is not so muched aimed at getting more opportunities for hunters as it is the numbers aspect of things and by that I mean money.
