Who all is participating in the mentored hunt tomorrow and who are you taking? I  am taking my neighbors boy out and gonna try to get him a bird. Remember these kids will never forget this hunt so make it fun, safe, and pass on some of those tips and tactics that we have learned over the years. Enjoy it and good luck, it's gonna be a great morning.

I'll be taking out my son, Reice.  Hopefully we can finish off the mentor hunt double.  Good luck to all and as shed freak said, have fun and enjoy "Playing The Game"

Well guys, Reice and I are 0-1 this spring.  Had one close this morning, but apparently his six hens looked better to him than the 1 we were pretending to be.  Can't say I blame him.  Reice learned a valuable lesson today though, not all hunts last only 10 minutes.  I think he had the idea it was going to be like deer season.  To his credit, I was ready to go home at 11:00, but he stuck it out until 12:00.  I haven't received any pictures yet, how did everyone else do?

I think Shed Freak is talking about "Little Thunder". My seven year old son Christian hooked up on a nice two year old at about 8:40 am. Ten inches of beard,a little better than 3/4 inch spurs, and round about 18 pounds. With the smile on his face this morning, there is no doubt another turkey hunter hooked for life. As soon as I get my pics downloaded, I'll gladly share them with everybody.  And Shed Freak - Christian still wants to know why you wear those glasses?!?

Im not sure who was more excited me or him. I sure do like to see the youngsters knockin em down. Il try and get pictures on soon.

Way to go Coyote!! Teach them how to hunt now so you won't have to hunt for them when they're older!!

well i called in a great gobbler for my little sister to bad she descided her and the gf were going to set and giggle till her stomache hurt and she wanted to go home soon as she stood up we all saw the gobbler go from full strut to running across the field lol o well i guess she needs to learn a little patience then i took my little brother out andd called in 3 2 year old birds i believe and he is 16 and with the birds at 25 yards i watched the gun barrel moving as he shook and the gobblers run away laughing after he shot.... o well we get a good laugh out of the whole day anyways 4 gobblers in shooting range and they r all still alive so maybe they can get a shot next weekend :)

Can a youth turkey hunter use a .410 shotgun?

I believe so, the book only limits the size of shot and shell capacity.  It does say muzzleloading shotguns of all types and gauges are allowed.
