Just thought I would share my first archery season stories with all you guys. It all started back in June when I got a bow for my birthday. After I got my bow I shot it everyday and thought about archery hunting everyday. Finally my first oppurtunity to hunt came on the second weekend of archery season. On Monday morning Oct. 11 I saw a doe right next to me at like 20 yards so I slowly grabbed my bow. I think that moment was the most my heart has ever pounded because I knew this was it, the moment I had been waiting for. I took the shot and the deer ran off. We found blood but lost it and looked for 4 more hours and came out empty. I couldn't believe it. It was a LONG 2 weeks before I got out again. On Saturday evening on Oct. 23 I connected on a doe at 30 yards. This time we had no trouble finding it. I felt like my long quest since June was over because I just wanted to get a deer so bad with my bow. Then on the last evening of the season I saw 2 buck and the second one was a spike which I missed. But I had nothing to be mad about with the seson I had. I was only archery hunting 3 weekends this year and all 3 of them I got a shot at a deer like I explained earlier. It was a seson I will never forget especially since it was my first year of archery. I am now pretty much hooked on bowhunting for my life.
