OK.  I figured someone would have posted or chimed in on this by now, or maybe everyone is just trying to stay away from it.  So, this bear is harvested legally by a crossbow hunter, hunting new a resort in the Poconos.  From what i have read it is the pending state record.  Now everyone is up in arms because the bear was "tame."  Didn't know a free ranging black bear could be considered tame.  Here's my take on it.    Whether the guy new it was being fed is irrelevant.  He was hunting legally, or at least he has not been charged with anything to my knowledge.  He was not the one feeding it (again to my knowledge).  And as far as I know there was not a pile of donuts near by.  If you ask me the people who were feeding this bear should be fined, arrested, whatever.  I'm not sure if it an actual law, but I know it is not recommended by the PGC for people to feed bears.  I have heard of incidents where people have been made to take down their bird feeder, because it was attracting bears into neighborhoods and the bears were becoming a little to bold and causing problems.  Had this bear one day "lost it" and killed someone would they blame the bear or the people who had been feeding it all along?  OK, I'm done.  What say you?  Oh and here's the pic if you haven't seen it.

this has been all over several message boards. unless this guy gets charged with something all the bashers need to stop. all that does is hurts all hunters not just a guy some may disagree with how it was taken.

Here's what I think. Let's say the guy decides to not shoot the bear. Then sometime later the bear ends up killing someone. Then if that happened everyone would be mad at him for not shooting the bear. So I think it was a absolutely fine thing to do and congrats to the guy who got it. Oh and did any one else hear that he had to shoot it with 19 arrows to take it down because thats what I heard.
