Last week I was in Clarion on mon. & tue, and both days I saw flock after flock of geese flyiny North East. When I say flock after flock I mean litteraly hundreds of them each flock following the next. I was near the mall/ interstate area. I just wondered if anybody new if this is an annual flyway for the geese.

Not typically, I am not a waterfowl guru, but I was always under the impression that the flyway was east of us here in Clarion County.  Is your compass broke, because flying northeast also raises an eyebrow.  I do generally see alot of snows flying over during gun season though, well I should say hear because they are usually so high you can barely see them.

The only reasonI can think of is that they are resident birds and they were still finding open waters somewhere.  But again I am no expert.

Time to revisit this thread. This monday (March 9th) while on my way to Clarion, I saw a number of different flocks of geese flying the I-80 line again. This time they were flying west. 3 BIG!! flocks then a smaller flock a little later.

I heard a flock of snows going over my house last night about 11:30.  They were heading north.  You very well may be seeing birds migrating pres. or they could just be the resident.  But if you truly want to see a flyway, head east or ask someone who has lived east and south in virginia etc. near the coast.  literally thousands of birds, the sky is black with them.
