Did anybody besides hoss and I do any pheasant hunting this year? And does anybody know if the PGC started stocking them around places other than SGL's again because I have seen some around and I've heard other people talking about seeing them in places that they don't normaly see them.

I would almost bet I know where you saw the hen and rooster in a corn field.  I have been seeing those two for about five days straight and almost hit the hen yesterday morning.  To answer your question about the stocking, the PGC has cut back even further to my knowledge.  It would be my guess that a local yokal stocked them for their own hunting.

I did alot of pheasant hunting last year, both here in PA and in South Dakota.  I belong to a club that stocks 80 birds/week.  But I also did a fair share of hunting on farms that the PGC stocks.  At least around here, the PGC stocks birds on farms that are not posted and are open to the hunting public.  These places aren't too publicized but if want to know where to go to get some decent wing shooting in SW PA, shoot me an email.  If you are ever down my way and feel the need for some cackling roosters I will be than happy to ablige.

Welcome to the site.  Good to have ya.  Might have to take you up on that offer.  I love to pheasant hunt, but just don't have a good place to do so.  Got archery season on the mind for now.

Hey Gamemaster, I have archery season on my mind in a way.  I bought a new recurve to hunt pheasants with this year...lol  I don't stand a snowball's chance in hell of hitting one with it though. I had better stick to practicing and hunting deer with it before I take it out after roosters.  Hopefully my fiance will back me up or we'll go hungry for the week.!
